Benefits available from Connections, Inc. EAP are

• Primarily individuals or family members make a call to the toll free Connections line. ·
• Occasionally, managers, supervisors, or workplace nurses may suggest and assist in accessing the program.
• Face-to-face stress assessments will be offered.
• Meeting with an EAP professional will provide a written solution plan.
• Up to three hours annually, per problem incident at no cost in the EAP "plus" plan.
• Varied plans are available. The basic plan provides up to three hours of assessment annually per problem incident. Plans with short-term counseling options can be provided.
• Personal/family financial consultation and legal assistance in all 50 states are available.

The decision to contact the EAP is not a decision that treatment is needed.  The EAP evaluation is just that, evaluation and planning. Stress, breakdowns in relationships or symptoms that just are not going away are good reasons to contact your employee assistance help line.

The EAP is an opportunity for an individual or family to review their stress issues with a trained expert.  The assessment and solution planning service (up to three clock hours per problem incident) is not designed to be a treatment.

Rather it is an opportunity to make an assessment by discussing the issues with the trained professional. A collaborative solution plan is the result of the dialogue in the EAP evaluation.

Treatment for a particular disorder, personal problem or health concern may be an action decided upon following the EAP evaluation.  Approximately 60% of employees or family members who use EAP assessments do choose to follow the assessment with some type of additional treatment.

Certain Connections, Inc. EAP plans include coverage for additional outpatient treatment sessions, contact us for information about your plan. Remember, that means 40% either resolve the issues during the EAP evaluation, or outline problem solving approaches that do not include any formal treatment.
